Who is experimenting with the Fediverse, if not, perhaps you should be.

What is it????

In brief, the Fediverse is akin to a big network of connected social media sites that can talk to each other. Users can choose to run it from their servers instead of one company owning everything (like X). This gives you more control over your data. Popular Fediverse networks include Mastodon (similar to X) and PeerTube (similar to YouTube).

I have been for more than a year.

Before Threads, Flipboard, Mastodon, and Pixelfed I was on Twitter since 2007. Back then, I used the platform to converse, network, follow trade show news, and participate in “TweetChats”.

When The platform became X, it was all over!

Back in 2018, a friend of mine recommended Mastodon. He told me that if I valued my autonomy, I should move. This is how I first got introduced to the Fediverse. Initially, I didn’t get too excited. I was interacting with my connections on Twitter, and I didn’t want another social media app.

I am all about engagement and connections. Those are the qualities I look for in a social media app. Privacy matters but not to the extent that I don’t feel comfortable with social media. I post what…
